Converting Items in the Vault

Before you begin:  Every conversion pushes directly to Metrc the moment you submit it. Make sure your facility or profile has a connected Metrc API key in place — without it, none of your changes can be sent to Metrc.

What is Vault Conversion?

Vault conversion is how you turn one or more source packages into a brand-new package in your vault. Every conversion is submitted to Metrc on your behalf, which keeps the inventory in Hashio matched to what is reported to the state.

You can run a conversion from the Bulk Actions menu with zero, one, or several source tags selected — the Convert Items window handles all three cases. From there you can add, remove, duplicate, and stack multiple conversions in a single submission.

Tip:  Just need to convert a single tag quickly? You can also open the three-dot Actions menu on any row in the vault and click Convert to open a single-item drawer with the same fields.
Tip:  The Convert Items window mirrors the Metrc conversion process — anything you fill in here gets pushed directly to Metrc when you click Convert Items.

How to Convert Items in the Vault

Step 1  Open the Vault
  1. From the left sidebar, click Production, then click Vault.
Step 2  (Optional) Select Source Tags First

You can either select source tags ahead of time or build them inside the Convert Items window — both paths work.

  1. In the Tag or Product field, search for the items you would like to convert.
  2. Use the checkboxes on the left of each row to select the source tags you want to start with.

Prefer to build everything from inside the conversion window? Skip the checkboxes and go straight to Bulk Actions.

Step 3  Open the Convert Items Window
  1. Click the Bulk Actions dropdown above the inventory table.
  2. Click Convert.

The Convert Items window opens. Any source tags you checked appear under Source Materials in Conversion 1.

Step 4  Adjust Your Source Materials

The source materials list lets you fine-tune exactly what goes into the conversion before you submit.

  1. To remove a source tag, click the red X on the right side of that row.
  2. To add another source tag, click + Add Source Material and search for the tag you want to include.
  3. For each source row, enter the Quantity you are using from that package. The Unit is pre-filled in from Metrc.

Hover over any source tag to see additional details pulled from Metrc — product, available quantity, location, and package date.

Step 5  Fill in the Target Package

If you started with source tags selected, the License auto-fills based on those tags. If no source tags are selected yet, choose the License first — the Target Tag and Target Product lists are filtered by the license.

  1. Confirm or select the License.
  2. Search for or scan the Target Tag — this is the new tag the conversion will be assigned to.
  3. Search and select the Target Product.
  4. Choose the Target Location for the new package.
  5. Enter the Quantity and choose the Units for the output.
  6. Set the Package Date (Required) and the Expiration Date (Not required).
Step 6  Set Optional Flags

Each flag reveals a few extra fields when you check it. Only check the flags that apply to your conversion.

  1. Check Is Production Batch if this conversion creates a production batch, then enter the Production Batch Number.

For some conversions, this flag is required by Metrc in some states, so check the rules for your license type.

  1. Check Create Yield to tie the new tag back to a Hashio batch as yield. Search for the Batch for Yield and enter the Cost Allocation %.
  2. Check Add to Batch as Material if the new package should be attached to an existing batch as input material. Search for the Target Batch and enter the Quantity Required.
Step 7  Add a Note (Optional)
  1. Type any notes about the conversion in the Note field.
Step 8  Duplicate or Stack Additional Conversions

You can run more than one conversion at the same time without leaving the window.

  1. To create copies of the current conversion with every field already filled in, click Duplicate this Conversion in the top right of the conversion card.
  2. In the popup, enter how many times you want to duplicate the conversion, confirm the Total count, and click Duplicate.
  3. To add a fresh, empty conversion below the current one, click + Add Another Conversion at the bottom of the window. Each new conversion can have its own source materials, target package, and flags.
  4. To remove a conversion you no longer need, click the red Remove link in the top right of that conversion card.

Use Duplicate when you are running several similar conversions back to back, and Add Another Conversion when each output package is different.

Step 9  Submit
  1. Scroll through each conversion card to confirm your source materials, target details, and flags are correct.
  2. Click Convert Items in the bottom-right corner of the window.

Hashio submits every conversion to Metrc. You will receive an error message if the conversion is not successful.

Tip:  The Convert Items window mirrors the Metrc conversion process — anything you fill in here gets pushed directly to Metrc when you click Convert Items.
