Destroying Plant Batches in Hashio
| Before you begin: In Hashio, a plant batch is a group of clones or untagged plants. Destroying a plant batch in Hashio will record the waste and push the destruction to Metrc. This action cannot be undone, so double-check your counts before confirming. |
What Is Destroying a Plant Batch?
Destroying a plant batch is how you record waste for clones or untagged plants in Hashio. When you destroy a batch, Hashio captures the count, waste weight, reason, and waste method, and then sends the destruction to Metrc for you. You can destroy part of a batch or the whole batch in one step, and you can destroy several batches at once from the Plant Batches page.
When To Use This
Use this workflow any time you need to remove clones or untagged plants from inventory — for example, when clones fail to root, when plants are culled for health reasons, or when you are cleaning up a batch that did not make it to transplant.
| Step 1 Open the Plant Batches page |
You will see a list of all active plant batches for your license, with columns for Name, Strain, Counts, Location, Planted date, Age, and License. |
| Step 2 Find the plant batches you want to destroy |
Filters include Plant Batch Type, Location, Strain, License, and Attribute. Use these to quickly find the batches you want. |
| Step 3 Select the batches and click Destroy |
You can destroy a single batch or many at once. The number on the Destroy button tells you how many batches will be included. |
| Step 4 Fill out the General Destruction Information |
On the Destroy Plant Batches page, complete every field in the General Destruction Information section. These values apply to all batches included in this destruction.
The Waste Method, Waste Material, and Reason dropdowns are pulled directly from your Metrc account, so the options you see here match what is set up in Metrc. |
| Step 5 Record the count and waste weight for each batch |
Scroll to the Plant Batches to Destroy section at the bottom of the page. Each selected batch has its own row with its current Tracked and Untracked counts.
Every batch needs a count and a waste weight before you can continue. Leaving waste weight as 0 is fine if your state and waste method allow it. |
| Step 6 Confirm and push the destruction to Metrc |
Once you click OK, Hashio records the waste and sends the destruction to Metrc. The destroyed count will appear under Destroyed on the batch row, and fully destroyed batches will move to the Inactive tab. |
| Tip: Always double-check the Count and Waste Weight values before confirming. Because the destruction pushes to Metrc and cannot be undone, catching a typo before you click OK saves a call to support and a correction in Metrc. |
That's it — your plant batch destruction is recorded in Hashio and synced to Metrc. If you need to review past destructions, open the Inactive or All tabs on the Plant Batches page to see batches that are no longer active.
