A Quick Setup Guide for Cultivators & Processors

Categories are how your products and inventory get grouped for reporting, filtering, and pulling data. Lean is better than long — most facilities run smoothly with 8–12 top-level categories and use subcategories to add detail where it matters. The examples below are just that — examples to get you thinking. Categories don't have to mirror Metrc; build them around how you think about your business.

How It Works in Hashio

The top-level bucket — e.g. Flower, Concentrate, Packaging, Vape Products.

Subcategory

Optional detail within a category — e.g. Bulk Distillate, 1g Live Resin, CR Exit Bags.

Step 03

Filter & Report

Sort by Category, Brand, or Strain — alone or combined — to pull the view you need.

The categories above are a starting point, not a checklist. Pick what fits, ignore what doesn't, and add your own. Build it lean, learn what reports you actually run, and grow from there.
